Henry County, Indiana, offers a dynamic, diverse, and well-trained workforce. Additionally, the community attracts labor from densely populated areas including Muncie, Richmond, Anderson, and Indianapolis. With interstate and four-lane road access to these communities, Henry County boasts a labor shed of 236,000.

New Castle Career Center

The New Castle Career Center attracts students from around the region, providing skill development that is valuable to employers. The Center trains more than 500 students each year in the following programs:  Advanced Manufacturing, Building Trades, CNA, Cosmetology, Dental Careers, EMT & Public Safety, Facility Maintenance, Health Science Education, Machine Trades, Veterinary Science, Broadcasting, Computer Operations, Culinary Arts, Education Careers, Engineering, Graphic Design, ICE (Interdisciplinary Cooperative Education), Marketing & Sports Entertainment, and Welding.

Additional Training Resources

Ivy Tech Community College has a location in New Castle, and more than a dozen colleges and universities are within a one-hour drive of Henry County. The local WorkOne office serves employers with a Work Ready program designed to educate and certify workers before and during employment.
