Denise and Joe Peacock are the proprietors of the magnificent Boondocks Barn & Lodge on Montgomery Creek Ranch in Knightstown. Boondocks is a wedding and special occasions venue hosting events 365 days a year with activities and accommodations for an entire weekend. Denise Peacock’s love for the beauty of the outdoors and the family values it instills led her to share this property with others so that they may create cherished special occasions with their family and friends.
“We all have visions of our dream wedding,” Denise says. “Our mission is that each of our clients have a truly wonderful experience on the ranch on their wedding day.”
The Peacocks acquired the property in February 2022. The name “Boondocks” has been associated with the property since its original owner over 20 years ago. The business name is Montgomery Creek Ranch, but they incorporated Boondocks into their wedding and events venue on the property: Boondocks Barn and Lodge on Montgomery Creek Ranch.
When it comes to event planning, the Peacocks have considered every detail. Couples can get married inside the Boondocks Barn, which features a large, cozy fireplace, or outside in The Meadows, surrounded by woods, sycamore trees, and wildflower fields. The barn can accommodate up to 250 guests and includes a dance floor, mahogany chairs, cocktail tables, outdoor games, and beautiful intricate details.
A 6,000-square-foot lodge is also available and can sleep up to 20 guests. The lodge is perfect for rehearsal dinners and has a heated pool and hot tub. A “Day Of” coordinator is included to assist couples throughout the day of their event. Optional catering, bar, linen, and on-site decorating packages are available to help couples take the stress out of event planning. The list of amenities and options is extensive.
Turning a vision into a successful business and training employees to take on leadership roles are the aspects of business ownership that Denise finds most rewarding. She has also enjoyed networking with other Henry County business owners and recommending local businesses to her clients.
It is clear that Denise has put her heart and soul into their business and enjoys what she does. “We spend quite a bit of time with our wedding clients.
