Training Grants Available For Eastern Indiana Employers

Eastern Indiana Works is preparing to launch a new application for the Next Level Jobs Employer Training Grant cycle. This year’s application will be opening on or about July 1, 2022. There are some changes planned for this year’s cycle.

-Training must be in one of the following industries: Advanced Manufacturing, Technology and Business Services, Transportation and Logistics, Health and Life Sciences, Building and Construction, and Agriculture. 
-Training must be job skills training that aligns to an eligible occupation and is at least 40 hours in length.
-Training must yield a post-secondary credential, a nationally recognized industry credential, or be specialized company training.
-New employees must receive a minimum wage of $17 per hour and incumbent workers must experience a minimum 3% wage increase upon completion of training.
-All trainees, whether new or incumbent, must be retained for six months (from the start date of the training) before becoming eligible for cost reimbursement.

Employers can be reimbursed for up to $50,000 per employer (limited to two FEINs in the region). Training amounts vary based on type of training:
-Up to $5,000 per employee for training resulting in a post-secondary credential or nationally recognized industry credential.
-Up to $3,000 per employee for specialty company training.
-Up to $1,000 per High School Student enrolled in a work-based learning program.

All employers must invoice by December 31, 2023.
